WISE 2021 Thanksgiving

What are you thankful for?

As one of the three major festivals in the United States, Thanksgiving is a day for a family reunion, as well as a time to express gratitude.

The Thanksgiving Feast hosted by WISE was as meaningful as the traditional Thanksgiving dinner. It is not only a sumptuous meal, WISE Student Council also invited each class from Grade 1 to Grade 12 to prepare a short video to say thank you to those they want to thank the most.

WISE 2021 Fall Field Trip

Because of the COVID-19 concerns, WISE arranged for elementary students to visit “Shanbanqiao Recreation Farm" and "Old Mountain Rail Bike" for cultural education, while middle and high school students had a hiking trip at “Mautu Exploring Forest” in order to avoid the crowded and congested urban life.

WISE 2021 Happy Halloween

WISE had 3 different themes for Halloween this year.

Not only the elementary school teachers planned various class activities for students to enjoy, but WISE Student Council also arranged 7 booths and a haunted house for grade 1 to grade 12.

We decorated our lobby based on the popular Japanese animation " Demon Slayer", and took inspiration from the well-known Korean series "Squid Game" for the game booths. Members of the student council also spent day and night creating a scary haunted house with the theme of the Japanese thriller movie "As The Gods Will".

WISE 2021 Fall PTC

Parent-teacher conference (PTC) has always played a key role in communication between teachers and parents. In the previous week, WISE has successfully held our PTC meetings for elementary school, middle school, and high school. These conferences are crucial for strong relationships between the two parties who are chiefly concerned with a child’s academic and personal development.

WISE 2021 Guaranteed admission to the University of Minnesota

“Driven to discover!” is the motto of the University of Minnesota, one of the best public universities in the U.S. At WISE, we not only share the same values but also the same vision. Therefore, it is our great pleasure to announce that we have recently become the only school in Taiwan to partner with the University of Minnesota. By signing a memorandum of understanding (MOU), students at WISE are now guaranteed admission to the University of Minnesota through the Pathway Program.

WISE 2021 Happy Teacher’s Day

Quoting from the great activist, Malcolm X: “Education is our passport to the future, for tomorrow belongs to the people who prepare for it today.” In WISE, our teachers not only help our students build knowledge but also character. On paper, it looks like a teacher’s job is to get you ready for the next grade. And that is difficult in its own right. But there is a much bigger, more complicated task at hand. WISE teachers are preparing our students for life, and for the world. And it takes not just skill, not just information, but so much patience and presence to do it well.

WISE 2021 Mooncake baking

The Mid-Autumn Festival is coming! Since everyone is looking forward to the holidays, let’s not forget to have some fun! Before the holiday, we invited our elementary students to make their own moon cake and share it with their families.

We have kids from different grades working on their own to wrap the ingredients in the dough. The chef introduced one of the traditional flavors in moon cakes, classic egg yolks pastry. Wishing all of you a happy and prosperous Mid-Autumn Festival!
