Quoting from the great activist, Malcolm X: “Education is our passport to the future, for tomorrow belongs to the people who prepare for it today.” In WISE, our teachers not only help our students build knowledge but also character. On paper, it looks like a teacher’s job is to get you ready for the next grade. And that is difficult in its own right. But there is a much bigger, more complicated task at hand. WISE teachers are preparing our students for life, and for the world. And it takes not just skill, not just information, but so much patience and presence to do it well. On this special day, let’s acknowledge, let’s salute all of the teachers. Thank you so much for the immeasurable difference you make in children’s lives each and every day.
