Every year on the first Thursday in March, children around the world will celebrate “World Book Day.” In the UK, every child is given a voucher to be spent on books. In India, the most popular activity on this day is “Selfie with your favorite Book.” On the other hand, here at WISE our Grade 3 and Grade 8 students gave us a very memorable puppet show.
On a warm spring day afternoon, our AP Psychology class went on a field trip to the museum of illusions. The museum provides us with an intriguing visual, sensory, and educational experience. Also, the exhibits are very much related to the course, in which they are currently studying about Perception and Illusions. The students had a great time during the visit and definitely gained a different perspective.
Elementary club experiences and middle & high school club fair!
At the beginning of the semester, WISE always holds club experiences for elementary students to explore different clubs before choosing their interested clubs. WISE has Djembe Club and Chorus Club for students who are into playing music, Dodgeball Club and Taekwondo Club for students who like to exercise, and LEGO Machine Club, Coding Club, and Science Club for students who prefer static activities.
After the Chinese New Year, the festival came next was the Chinese Lantern Festival. We have prepared a series of activities to enrich the Lantern Festival. "Parent-child Lion Mask DIY Competition", a family united activity that allowed elementary students to be creative and make their own lion masks with their family members, and share a parent-child moment. After the projects were completed, WISE students and faculty voted for their favorite masks. The winners will earn extra house points for their belonging Houses, and win glory not only for themselves but also for their peers.
Club time has always been a good chance for students to develop additional interests. For example, in the Cooking Club, students can make delicious meals by themselves, in the Minecraft Adventure Club, students create their own buildings in the 3D world, in the Movie Club, students can enjoy a variety of movies and make their own short films. Through the club presentation, students got to share what they have learned this semester, and look forward to learning more knowledge and skills in club times in the new school year.
This is our first time to hold an inter-house sports day at Feng-Chia University. All of the students brought their best efforts on the field and showed the spirit of never giving up.
In the fun game section, parents were invited to participate with their children. It helped to cultivate parent-child tacit understanding and strengthen relationships. Moreover, through grouping by houses, the elementary students got to work together with high school students to win house points and the final victory!

This year, WISE administration and the WISE Student Council held a series of Christmas events together!
It’s Secret Santa Time! Everyone is too shy to express their love and gratitude to each other. So students and staff can secretly put their gifts or cards into someone’s stockings and the receivers need to figure out who their Secret Santa is!
Who doesn’t love hot chocolate? We had “Hot Chocolate Day” to keep students and staff warm and cozy all winter long.

Christmas is just around the corner! WISE has planned several events to celebrate the holiday. Making a remarkable start, WISE just finished hosting our first movie night on December 13th. The movie we selected is the classic Christmas comedy, Elf, which is often ranked among the greatest Christmas films and airs annually on North American television during the holiday season. Accompanied by laughter and popcorn, students had a great time that night. Buddy the elf has successfully made WISE full of Christmas cheer!
WISE Elementary Soccer Team joined in some friendly matches with HIKARI Club on December 12th. Thank you to HIKARI Club for organizing this event and letting our students have opportunities to play soccer with other teams. Congratulations WISE for winning 2 matches that day. Well done! Go Jaguars!
