Advanced Placement (AP) Updates for School Impacted by Coronavirus

The College Board has announced some changes to the Advanced Placement exams in response to the COVID-19 outbreak. They have reduced the material covered on AP exams in all subjects, eliminating the final units from most courses. Further, all 2020 AP Examinations worldwide will be held online and made up only of free-response questions. The college board has a long history of responding to local disasters and emergencies through modified and shortened free-response based exams. Their student surveys indicate students still want to take their exams, and their affiliated universities have clearly indicated their faith in the modified exam plan and in the ability of AP courses to represent a valuable experience for high school students around the world. The reporting of AP scores will be consistent with other years.
