St. Patrick's day is celebrated annually on March 17 which is also the national holiday of Ireland. In order to honor their patron saint- St. Patrick of Ireland, Irish people who come from all over the world celebrate this special day. In tradition, Irish families wore green accessories on this day because legend has it that people who did not put something green on his/her body would be tricked by leprechauns. After Irish immigrants spread out over the United States, the tradition was also introduced to this country. This year, WISE teachers and students put on the exclusive Saint Patrick’s Day green T-shirts, and had the chef prepare healthy and nutritious green food to share the joy of the Irish holiday.
