When learning outside, children interact and work together differently than when they are in the classroom. Last Friday, our Grade 2 students have taken a lovely afternoon walk to Fuxing Park near our school. Grade 2 teachers planned this activity by the current Social Studies lesson. At the park, students put on their gloves and picked up the trash from every corner of the park. This was a very precious experience for them, not only did they have a chance to contribute to the neighborhood but also through community service, they could develop an increased sense of social responsibility. Furthermore, on the way, they also paid a quick visit to the Taichung Public Library Xitun Branch, which is known for its rich collection of children’s books. Positively, they had a memorable and meaningful afternoon. They are very lucky to have such hard-working and attentive teachers!
